Kick Off!
About our Client!
When we officially launched Resqueue Studio back in July 2025, we of course held a giveaway to celebrate! Addie was our giveaway winner for a full rebrand! The service she won is equivalent to our Full Branding package.
Addie C Photos is a photographer based out of Birmingham, Alabama, but is looking for every opportunity to travel to the coast. Her photography style is true to tone and on the slightly lighter side. She prides herself on providing comfort and direction to her clients during their sessions and wedding days. The majority of her business is surrounded by the wedding industry, but she loves to photograph family and senior sessions as well!
She has never had her branding done professionally before, so this was a new and exciting process for Addie! Our kick off meeting with her took place at a coffee shop in Madison, AL. This is where we went into a deep dive of her branding inspiration along with a previous hiccup/pain point she went through with her previous branding (that she put together herself). With all those details, we were excited to curate her two directional drafts.
Big Takeaways
Tons of her inspiration included light pastel tones of blue, stripes, flowers, and tall serif fonts. She wanted to incorporate a coastal feel without it being too obvious since she is location in Central Alabama. She loves traveling south to take weddings and sessions towards the gulf, so the coastal undertone to her branding would hopefully inspire her clients to head to the beach for their next session or to tie the knot if they're not there already!
Directional Drafts!
Directional Draft A
As you'll be able to tell, Addie loved this directional draft so much that it basically turned into her final design! We leaned heavy into all the branding elements we noted in her inspiration.

Directional Draft B
During our Kick Off meeting, Addie made a comment on how she visualized her business initials in an oyster. She chatted a ton about how much she loved oysters, so honestly expected her to want to hold on to those illustrations. To our surprise, she nixed it. Her branding inspiration was heavy with blues and cool tones, so we chose to challenge that direction with this board. She followed her original vision and went with the color palette on Board A.

With the two directional boards, Addie's final designs leaned completely towards Draft A. Her inspiration was all about the blues and cool neutral tones that it was no surprise that her final branding was a variation of the colors on Draft A. She was a bit indecisive at first on which primary logo she loved more. She loved the elements of both, but eventually decided on the primary logo on Draft A as well. So at the end of the day, her final board was just a variation of Draft A.
This is a reminder that your final design board doesn't have to look anything like either of your directional boards. On the other hand, it could be a perfect love child between your two directional boards, or one directional board could be exactly what you envisioned. Your raw comments about your directional boards are important to place out into the atmosphere. We need your true insight to craft a brand you'll be OBSESSED with. This isn't your nail color - this is your business's identity!

Final Thoughts
Addie's final brand included those blue tones that remind you both of hydrangeas and sitting on the beach and watching the waves! The stripes remind us of beach towels or condo wallpaper. Her logos are simple and elegant. We especially love her detailed submark with her initials surrounded with the double lined boarded in different widths.
